Quetta Gladiators to hold Under-23 Talent Hunt Programme in Balochistan

Quetta Gladiators, one of the five founding entities of the Pakistan Super League, has set off to promote cricket in a big way in the province of Balochistan, by launching a talent hunt programme titled ‘Your Gateway to Stardom’ in the first week of September.

The salient of the Under-23 Talent Hunt Programme for Balochistan, to be conducted under the supervision of the spinning great, Iqbal Qasim, were unveiled by the owner of Quetta Gladiators, Nadeem Omar, in a media briefing at Hotel Movenpick, Karachi, on August 29.

Moin Khan, a former Pakistan captain and coach of Quetta Gladiators, was also present on the occasion alongwith Salahuddin Ahmed, ex-Chairman of the national selection committee, and quite a few other cricketers.

“Iqbal Qasim, one of the greatest left-arm spinners, has been roped in as the Director of the talent hunt programme and he will be assisted by the trio of Saleem Jaffer, Ghulam Ali and Zafar Ahmed. All of them have volunteered to work on honorary basis which is truly commendable,” Nadeem Omar recognized.

“The initial phase of the trials will be taking place at the Bugti Stadium in Quetta from September 1 to 4 and at the Jam Mir Ghulam Qadir Stadium in Hub on September 7 and 8. The final phase of the trials will be carried out in the third week of September in Quetta. At the end of the final selection process, around 20 players will be selected and they will be awarded one-year contracts during which period they will be trained by qualified coaches,” the Managing Director of Omar Associates revealed.

“As many as 15 players will be selected from the talent hunt while the top five performers of
Balochistan in the PCB Regional Under-19 Tournament will be automatically drafted in the final list,” he added.

The players from all cities and districts of Balochistan, falling in the Under-23 age group, have been invited to take part in the trials.

“Our initiative is aimed at providing a solid platform to the deprived cricketers of Balochistan for showcasing their true potential. Here is an opportunity for them to get noticed and give a head start to their career. They can prove their mettle and make it big,” Nadeem Omar remarked.

“It’s our mission to support the cause of cricket from the grassroots level in the entire province of Balochistan. Talent hunt was a missing link there and we are plugging the gap. Our programme will go a long way in boosting the sport in the truest sense of the word,” he reckoned.

Iqbal Qasim shared having worked in the province of Balochistan for seven to eight years during his long stint as a cricket administrator.

“Trust me we were overwhelmed by the talent of the youngsters over there. They were incredibly powerful young lads whose cricketing abilities were beyond our imagination. This initiative of Quetta Gladiators is a masterstroke and it should work wonders in future. This will be greatly helpful in facilitating the cricketers of the province who get little exposure otherwise,” he remarked in his speech on the occasion.

Moin Khan was equally optimistic about discovering quality talent from Balochistan which could prove to be assets for Quetta Gladiators as well as Pakistan.

“The Balochistan youngsters thoroughly deserved such an initiative. They have enormous talent and enthusiasm. We are providing them the platform and we are confident that it will yield the desired results,” he hoped.

Murad Ismail, President of the Quetta Regional Cricket Association, offered his wholehearted support to Quetta Gladiators in this venture, promising total cooperation in achieving the mutual objective of putting Balochistan on the cricket map.

Shariq Hasib Khan, a senior bureaucrat having headed the cricket bodies in Balochistan, announced holding an Inter-Schools Cricket Tournament in Quetta during the month of October in which a total of 24 outfits will be taking part.

PVCA Inter-Schools Cricket Tournament for Omar Trophy starts on September 1

A total of 32 outfits will be participating in the PVCA Inter-Schools Cricket Tournament 2016 for the Omar Trophy, being organized by the Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) and sponsored by Omar Associates.

The details about the tournament, to be spread over two and half months during which a total 55 matches are scheduled to be held, were unveiled in a media briefing by Fawad Ijaz Khan, Chairman, PVCA, and Nadeem Omar, Managing Director, Omar Associates, at the Karachi Gymkhana on August 30. Aly Mustansir, Chief Marketing Officer, Bank Alfalah, one of the co-sponsors of the event, also shared his views on the occasion.

Salahuddin Ahmed, Sadiq Mohammad and Iqbal Qasim were the Test cricketers present in the gathering, along with former chief of the HBL Sports Division, Abdul Raquib, the President of the Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA), Prof Ejaz Ahmed Farooqui, and the President of Karachi Gymkhana, Fawad Salim Malik. Besides the media corps, the representatives of the participating schools also attended the briefing.

It was announced that the tournament will be getting underway with a colourful opening ceremony at the Karachi Gymkhana Cricket Ground on September 1 and it will be followed by the opening match between Beaconhouse School and Ladybird School the same day.

Fawad Ijaz Khan, in his speech, highlighted the role of the PVCA in the promotion of cricket at the grassroots level, as the association is now holding eighth edition of the Inter-School Tournament in Karachi, having launched it in 1999.

“We had envisioned the Inter-Schools cricket on the pattern of the Ruby Shield, which used to be the premier tournament of its kind and it’s still talked about with great awe. We have launched something similar and we need supporters like Omar Associates and Bank Alfalah to join hands with us in making it an annual event,” he observed.

“Both the semifinals as well as the final, to be staged at the National Stadium, Karachi, will be telecast live nationally and internationally as was done in the last edition of the tournament,” Fawad Ijaz Khan disclosed.

Nadeem Omar, Managing Director, Omar Associates, paid glowing tribute to the functionaries of the PVCA on organizing the Inter-Schools Tournament in Karachi for the eighth time in 17 years.

“It’s quite an uphill task doing it as there are numerous challenges involved. Hats off to Fawad Ijaz Khan and his PVCA team for having done it quite professionally and nicely. Omar Associates is always a willing sponsor for the sports activities in the country and we are delighted to be supporting the PVCA Inter-Schools Tournament,” he observed.

“It’s indeed a pity that just a few athletes of our country participated in the recently concluded Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. We need to build a proper infrastructure for sports as we do have the talents which are not being utilized,” he reckoned.

Aly Mustansir, Chief Marketing Officer, Bank Alfalah, welcoming the initiative of the PVCA of continuously holding Inter-Schools Tournament in Karachi, expressed the hoped that it will also be taken to other cities.

“Extending support in developing indigenous talent and taking innovation in to the next level are part of our institutional strategy as well. Inter-Schools Tournament provide solid platform to the rising talent and it’s extremely beneficial for the cause of the game,” he noted.

Meanwhile the participating teams of the PVCA Inter-Schools Cricket Tournament 2016 for the Omar Trophy have been divided equally in eight groups.

The Group A comprises of Ladybird Grammar School, Beaconhouse School, CAA School and Fahim School System while the Group B contains Fahad Academy, Happy Palace School, Fatimiyah Boys School and Zaheer Public School.

The Group C features St Paul English School, Qadri Model English School, Zeeshan Secondary School and Qamar Bani Hashim School while the Group D is composed of Khan Secondary School, Al Fatima Academy, Oasis English Secondary School and The Educators.

The quartet of BM Grammar School, Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Springfield School and Hira Foundation Boys School constitute the Group E while the Group F has the presence of Ebrahim Ali Bhai School, Karachi Public School, Government Boys Secondary School No 2 and Al Hameed Secondary School.

The Group G includes Karachi Gymkhana Schoolboys, Foundation Public School, St Patrick’s High School and Behbud Boys Secondary School while the four teams in the Group H are Kamran Public School, New Standard Secondary School, Falcon House Grammar School and The City School.

At the end of the league matches, the leaders of all the eight groups will be advancing to the knockout stage of the competition, starting with the quarter-finals on October 31. The semifinals on November 10 and 11 will be followed by the final on November 15.

Posters and portraits of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief, Altaf Hussain, were removed by from the city’s famous Mukka Chowk in the stronghold of the party.

According to the police, unidentified people removed Altaf Hussain’s photos and portraits from the Chowk. The law-enforcers have no clue about the people are involved in damaging and removing MQM leader’s photos as well as MQM’s banners and posters.

Posters and pictures of MQM leader were also removed from Jinnah Ground in Karachi, Nine Zero, Azizabad and different locations in Hyderabad.

The law-enforcers have no clue about the people are involved in damaging and removing MQM leader’s photos as well as MQM’s banners and posters.

Scotland Yard investigates Altaf Hussain’s speech

The Scotland Yard said it was investigating the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain’s speech for inciting violence in Karachi when he addressed party workers and supporters from his north-London base on Monday.

Violence erupted in Karachi after MQM’s Altaf Hussain, who has been living in Edgware for over 20 years, addressed supporters in the city via a telephone call.

The police are examining Hussain’s speech following “numerous calls from the public” to see if his remarks broke any English laws, a Scotland Yard spokeswoman told the Guardian.

She added, “Where evidence of criminal activity is found we will consult with the Crown Prosecution Service.”

Authorities in Pakistan claimed Hussain described the country as a “cancer” and incited his followers to attack two media stations that he accused of bias.

On the other hand, an MQM spokesman claimed that the violence flared after the party’s supporters were fired on by police where one person was killed.

MQM’s Altaf Hussain has already been under investigation since last summer following previous speeches.

The Metropolitan police have been probing many old speeches made by Hussain, who holds joint British-Pakistani citizenship, one of the three separate cases by the force into Hussain and other MQM members.

Hussain apologised for his remarks on Tuesday, blaming “mental stress”. MQM’s Jalil constantly sought to play down rumours of a split within the party, a senior party member Dr Farooq Sattar distanced MQM from Hussain’s comments, saying the party should now be run “from Pakistan not London”.

“If I am killed, hold Altaf Hussain responsible”, says Amir Liaquat

Former minister and TV personality claims he is receiving death threats from the party

““I am being told I am a bigger traitor than even Mustafa Kamal, and that I will be killed in a more painful manner than Kamal,”

Former MQM member Dr Amir Liaquat revealed on Thursday that he has been receiving death threats via SMS and phone calls from unknown numbers after leaving the party earlier this week.

While talking to different private television channels, Amir Liaquat stated, “my life is in danger. If I am killed and found in a bori (sack), hold the leader of MQM, Altaf Hussain responsible”.

Amir Liaquat said he was being called a “bigger traitor that Mustafa Kamal”. Mustafa Kamal is also an ex MQM member who also parted ways with the party after difference with Altaf Hussain. He returned from self-exile this year and formed a new party, Pak Sarzameen Party. The party consists mostly of ex-MQM members and is constantly inviting existing members to join them.

Amir Liaquat explained that he had attempted to make amends after leaving the party but to no avail. He went on to say that when MQM leaders disassociated themselves from the anti-Pakistan and anti-army statements that Altaf Hussain made they should have disassociated themselves from the individual who made them as well.

Amir Liaquat went on to say that “there is no MQM Pakistan, FarooqSattar has to completely disassociate himself from Altaf Hussain as well”. Meanwhile, Farooq Sattar who is the default leader of the party in Pakistan refused to completely disassociate himself from Altaf Hussain.

While speaking on a private TV channel, he rubbished Dr AmirLiaquat’s claims saying that this is just a conspiracy theory and that he has yet been unable to talk to him. “If I am able to talk to him I will advise him to be calm and think the situation out rather than speak on just emotion” said Farooq.

Soon after, Amir Liaquat appeared on another talk show, where he made some more revelations. He said that he clearly recognised the voices behind the calls he has been receiving. He said that the threat that I received was “if you love the Pakistani flag so much, you should wrap your dead body in the flag before burial. We can make that happen for you”.

To this he aggressively said, “Don’t give me an empty threat. Come and shoot me in the chest. I am here”. He said, “During the day I have received supportive messages from both IG Sindh and Rangers forces who have offered me security detail for protection”

Speaking about MQM’s militant wing he said that when I rejoined the party this year I saw the militant elements in the party and the same elements are giving me threats. He explained that he attempted to rid the party of such elements but was told to stop.

Amir Liaquat has also been nominated in three different cases as ‘facilitator’. The cases are registers in Malir police station against AltafHussain’s speech, which Amir Liaquat defended on live television. SSP Malir, Rao Anwar said Amir Liaquat will be arrested soon on the basis of these charges.

SSP Rao appeared was taken on air with a where he stated that I have made no such statement. He went on to say that although police officials are not allowed to appear on television without the permission of the IG Sindh, I decided to appear without any such approval because I had to defend myself.

With reference to the allegations of RAW funding, Amir Liaquat said “Yes! I am fully convinced MQM takes funding from RAW.”

Dr. Liaquat himself was the first person to defend Altaf Hussain’s anti-state, anti- army speech on Monday. He was subsequently arrested by Rangers and kept overnight. He was released the following day after which he attended the press conference, where senior MQM leaders disassociated themselves from the speech made by Altaf Hussain and took complete decision-making powers.

Amir Liaquat then proceeded to appear on multiple television shows, looking particularly distraught and mentally absent saying he was “unable to understand the situation” and that he has not only left the party but politics as a whole.

Several MQM offices demolished, sealed in Karachi

A total of one hundred and ninety offices of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have been sealed across Karachi within three days.

The local administration sprang into action and demolished the party’s unit offices in Mosamiyat, Bhains Colony, Tariq Bin Zaiyad Society, Gulshan-i-Maymar and Shah Faisal Colony on the plea that they were set up illegally.

According to an official, the decision to demolish the MQM offices built on state land and amenity plots were taken during a meeting between Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Chief Minister Shah on Wednesday. Besides, he said, the provincial and federal governments had also decided to dismantle or seal those offices of the party which helped unscrupulous elements or created fear among the general public.

Earlier today, MQM offices were sealed in Jheel Park and Shah Faisal Colony areas.

In Azizabad, the name of “Mukka Chowk” has also been changed to “Liaquat Ali Khan Chowk”.

The photos and posters of MQM chief at Nine Zero and several other places were removed whereas Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall and transport office were also set up illegally.

SCA Independence Day Chess Championship aims to bolster mind sport

Prizes worth millions of Rupees will be distributed among the participants and the spectators during the Independence Day Chess Championship 2016, being organized by the Sindh Chess Association (SCA) at the Customs Services Club in Federal-B-Area, Karachi, over the weekend.

The details of the two-day event were unveiled by Ayaz Memon Motiwala, President SCA, and Chairman, Karachi Tajir Alliance Association (KTAA), while the technical aspects were shared by Sadia Qureshi, Secretary General, SCA, in a media briefing here at the Karachi Press Club on August 23.

“The objective of holding the Independence Day Chess Championship, having participation from all over the country, with great fanfare on August 26 and 27 is to attract the youth in particular towards this mind sport. The school kids besides the college and university students are being encouraged to take part in it through various promotions. The fabulous prizes are going to serve as incentives,” Ayaz Motiwala, having been elected the SCA President recently, remarked.

“Indeed it’s a pity that such a wonderful game like chess has suffered in the past due to politicking and other reasons. We cannot change the past but surely we can contribute our bit in turning it around for the future. We desire to engage the youth in a big way and the positive results would be visible sooner than later,” he declared.

“Having accepted the leadership of the SCA as a challenge, a comprehensive youth development
programmed is being worked out and it will soon be launched all over the province, which is our domain. The research has shown the students are particularly for playing chess and we wish to facilitate them in every possible manner, be it online or otherwise,” Ayaz Motiwala, eager to set the ball rolling instead of waiting for things to happen, stated.

He also gave details of the major prizes to be presented during the upcoming two-day event. Besides the cash prizes, there will be gold ear tops, crystal stone jewellary, gift hampers, dress suits, branded eye lenses and imported sun glasses to be won. As many as 100 exclusive memberships of the Franklinz Consumer Club will also be offered to the winners by lucky draws.

Sadia Qureshi, Secretary SCA, disclosed that competitions will be held in the youth as well as the open categories and their outstanding performers will be getting their share in the kitty of Rs 100,000.

She revealed that more than 50 entries for each of the two categories had already been received and greater number of entries was being anticipated by the deadline of August 24.

The SCA Secretary was critical of the Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) for meddling into the provincial chess affairs although it was not an Olympic sport.

Sadia Qureshi regretted that the country was unlikely to be represented in the upcoming Chess Olympiad due to the non-presence of an elected set-up of the Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP).

“We would urge the chess organizers to work for the promotion of the game rather than spending time in counter-productive activities. Otherwise Pakistan may not produce even International Masters, let alone Grand Masters, in future,” she concluded.

Asif retains NBP snooker trophy

Seventh seed Mohammad Asif successfully defended his title by outsmarting fourth seeded Mohammad Bilal in the final of the eighth edition of NBP Ranking Snooker Championship 2016 at the NBP Sports Complex in Karachi on August 22.

The 34-year-old Asif, a former world champion hailing from Faisalabad, overpowered Bilal, the 30-year-old reigning national champion from Mandi Bahauddin, 8-3 in the all-Punjab best of 15-frame final with the scores of 64-56, 5-88, 44-69, 72-34, 62-49, 60-18, 130-1, 69-36, 83-5, 29-72, 107-32.

The enigmatic Asif succeeded in extending his winning record against the mercurial Bilal, who had looked impeccable in the earlier matches including the semifinals the other day.

Asif opened his account by pocketing the closely fought first frame. Bilal responded strongly by taking the next couple of frames, firing a break of 61 in the third frame. It was Asif all the way after that as he won the next five frames on a trot to shoot into 7-2 lead. It included a break of 62 in the fifth frame and one of 130 in the seventh frame.

Fighting a lost cause, Bilal secured the 10th frame rather handsomely but it could not change the
course of the proceedings as Asif wrapped up the issue in the 11th frame.

Cash awards of Rs 150,000 were disbursed in the prize distribution ceremony, held soon after the conclusion of the final, in which Mudassir H Khan, SEVP & Group Chief, Commercial, Retail Banking Group, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), was the chief guest.
He presented a cash award of Rs 60,000, alongwith the winner trophy, to Asif while Bilal received a purse of Rs 35,000 with the runner-up trophy.

The losing semifinalists, Zulfiqar Abdul Qadir and Mohammad Sajjad, had to be content with Rs 15,000 each while the losing quarter-finalists, Babar Masih, Shahram Changezi, Sharjeel Mahmood and Mohammad Ijaz, were compensated with Rs 5,000 each.

Sharjeel of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, also claimed the cash award of Rs 5,000 for the highest break of the championship (140) which he had chalked up during the course of his 4-1 victory over the eventual champion, Asif, in the preliminary rounds.

Alamgir Anwar Shaikh, President, Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA), in his welcome speech, acknowledged the contribution of all the stake-holders in making the eight-day event another success story.

Ovais Asad Khan, heading the Strategic Marketing and CSR divisions of NBP, appreciated the improvement in the standard of snooker in Pakistan over the years and hoped that the cueists will bring more glories for the country in future.

Talking briefly to the media, after retaining the NBP trophy, Asif admitted that he has had to endure additional pressure because of the high expectations whenever he has gone to the table after the World Championship triumph in 2012.

“Obviously it’s not always possible to meet the expectations. After all the opponents of mine also come to the table for glories and they give their shot to it. I try my level best to keep delivering,” he remarked.

“Yes I do enjoy a kind of psychological advantage over Bilal, having beaten him a few times. That
helped today as well. He is an outstanding cueist in his own right but somehow he’s unable to do it when playing against me,” Asif reckoned.

The former world champion was full of praise, however, for Zulfiqar and Sharjeel for having fared superbly against him.

Bilal, a man of few words, conceded that the rub of the green didn’t go his way in the final unlike in the semifinal against Sajjad the other day.

“Hard work holds the key to success. Today was not my day but I will continue working hard to come up with better results in future,” he added.

A total of 27 top cueists of the country had entered the championship whose preliminary round matches witnessed innumerable upsets which continued in the knockout phase too.

Stem Cell Therapy: What’s The Hype About?

The FDA is set to crack down on a number of clinics across the United States that offer expensive stem cell therapies to treat various diseases, as they claim.

Diseases and conditions, which stem cell therapies are said to cure, range from erectile dysfunction to autism. However, there is no scientific proof that they actually do cure those diseases.

Over 200 stem cell clinics have appeared in the U.S. over the last few year, but they didn’t go through heavy regulations for the reason that those clinics extract from a person’s own body and nothing is really done before reinjecting the cells.

Just recently, the FDA released guidelines in which it states that the stem cells used in most clinics are drugs and that’s why approvals need to be issued before the use on patients.

There are two types of stem cells used by such clinics: derived from embryos and adult stem cells. Both of the cells are said to be capable of curing various diseases thanks to their regenerative properties. It must be noted that stem cells extracted from bone marrow have been used to treat cancer, blood and immune diseases and conditions for a long time now.

Cell Surgical Network, a forefather of dozens of stem cell clinics in the United States, claims that there are over two dozen conditions that could be treated with stem cells, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, lung disorders, congestive heart failure, Parkinson’s, muscular dystrophy and a number of others.

According to clinical trial evidence, stem cells could also speed up wound healing, treat scleroderma and strengthen the heart.

However, to date there is no clinical evidence that stem cells cure serious conditions such as strokes and lung diseases, while clinics that offer expensive stem cell therapies claim that they are extracting stem cells cleanly. But there is no evidence of that as well as there is no evidence that they are extracting those cells at all.Just recently, the FDA released guidelines in which it states that the stem cells used in most clinics are drugs and that’s why approvals need to be issued before the use on patients.

There are two types of stem cells used by such clinics: derived from embryos and adult stem cells. Both of the cells are said to be capable of curing various diseases thanks to their regenerative properties. 10 Ways to Prevent Cancer

Cancer is the ruin of human lives of the 21th century. According to statistics, every person on earth faces cancer: either he/she is diagnosed with cancer himself/herself or someone of their family is diagnosed.

In order to get a victory over cancer you must begin treatment at early stages of diagnosis and in case the treatment is taken seriously. Annually, cancer claims the lives of about 8 million people around the world.

But that’s enough with the frightening statistics. You can still prevent cancer and lower the risk of developing cancer. All you need to do is follow the following recommendations:

1. Don’t smoke, don’t take any kinds of tobacco and try to avoid rooms with smoke, as tobacco smoke is one of the most potent carcinogen.
2. Keep your normal body weight in check. Being overweight or too skinny promote bad health conditions.
3. Be physically active: move more, do more fitness, walk more.
4. Follow a healthy diet. Your everyday diet must include: vegetables, fruits, whole grains and dairy products. Say no to high-calorie foods with a high content of sugar and fat. Avoid sausages, bacon, canned and processed food.
5. Limit your alcohol intake as much as possible. Scientists have recently found that by completely avoiding alcohol beverages, you lower the risk of developing cancer.
6. Avoid direct interaction of sunrays with your skin: wear headwear, sunscreen and use creams with SPF 30.
7. If you’re a woman, do breastfeeding. According to recent studies, breastfeeding lowers the risk of developing breast cancer.
8. Be careful about your health, regularly do medical check-ups that would diagnose cancer at early stages.
9. Drink coffee. A British study found back in 2010 that drinking coffee lowers the risk of developing brain cancer by 40%

Benefits of Some Foods is Overestimated – Scientists

You can often hear that certain foods have magically healing properties. But that’s not always true. According to scientists, there are some foods that don’t really have all the benefits ascribed to them.

In the list of foods that have been overblown by numerous Internet articles are: orange juice, tomatoes, green coffee, oysters and pineapples.

Benefits of Some Foods is Overestimated – Scientists

Orange juice is not as healthy as many would believe due to its content of sugars, which is absorbed by the body almost immediately. Sugar raises glucose levels in the blood, promoting an uncontrollable spike in insulin, which in turn exhausts the pancreas and increases the risk of developing diabetes.

Tomatoes have also disappointed scientists because not all tomatoes contain the so-healthy element lycopene, which effectively fights cancer and helps maintain the youth. However, it has been found that chemicals used in tomatoes production decrease the levels of this healthy element by about 3 times.

Green coffee, which have been advertised as a weight loss product for a few years now, is also useless. Green coffee, according to scientists, may have a laxative effect, but in terms of promoting weight loss – it’s useless.

Oysters are believed to be effective in raising men’s libido. But turns out that it’s not exactly true. Such an effect is present in oysters when raw and fresh and in case they have accumulated enough zinc and glycogen in the water.

Pineapples, although they contain tons of vitamins and nutrients, break down not fats, as many would think, but proteins, which means it’s a useless fruit for those who are trying to lose weight. Besides, pineapples have a high glycemic index and a potent ability to boost the appetite.

3 Myths about Healthy Lifestyle DEBUNKED

Nowadays, it’s popular to advertise a healthy lifestyle. But not all of the rules of a healthy lifestyle give results, because some of them are wrong. Here are 3 myths about healthy lifestyle you need to know about!

Drinking freshly-squeezed juices is healthy

This misconception is widespread quite broadly. People believe that fresh juices is a true source of health and drink it for breakfast as well as use it as snacks. In reality, that’s not true. Juice is a concentrated substance and it contains many fruit acids, which make the stomach feel upset. For example, if you’re drinking apple juice, there will be about 3-4 big apples in the glass. It’s unlikely that you’d eat them not in the form of juice. Besides, juice is deprived of fiber, which is contained in whole fruits.

So eat fruits instead of drinking freshly-squeezed juices.

Eating egg yolks is unhealthy

It is believed that cholesterol contained in egg yolks can raise the levels of cholesterol in the blood. Today, scientists have found that this is a myth. Cholesterol contained in foods cannot affect cholesterol in the blood.

So the rule of eating no more than 3 egg yolks per day cannot be applied to the modern healthy lifestyle.

You cannot eat after 8pm

The main rule of having a beautiful and slim body is a fast metabolism, which requires food in order to not slow down. And a break in food consumption of over 12 hours is no good: not for the body, nor for the health. Keep in mind that your last meal should be 3 hours before heading to sleep.

Here’s What You Can’t Do After Eating

Healthy eating takes a huge part of our lives, but some of our habits can disrupt our weight loss plans. Here is a list of activities you cannot do after eating:

1. It is not recommended to unbutton your jeans or loosening your belt. It can block your digestion, deforming it or twisting your guts.
2. In no case should you drink lots of tea after eating. It leads to hardening of iron and protein, as it contains lots of tannin. As a result, the digestion and splitting of many microelements take place, both of which upset your digestive tract and put lots of stress on the liver.
3. Don’t smoke tobacco. According to scientists, the harm from smoking after eating is increased by about 10 times. It’s not recommended to smoke 25-30 minutes after eating.
4. Don’t eat lots of fruits for desert. Why is that, you may ask? Well, nutrition experts agree that fruits promote unrest in the body and make your body unable to digest other foods in the digestive tract.
5. No physical activity. After consuming food, only your stomach must be working, otherwise the digestion of vitamins and microelements won’t be complete.
6. Don’t do hydrotherapeutic procedure. In other words: don’t take a shower. When showering, a certain degree of stress it put on the body, which affects the blood pressure and the stomach experiences blood starvation. That, in turn, doesn’t allow your body to properly digest food.
7. Don’t go to sleep. When sleeping, the stomach stops the process of digestion, which results in decay of the food there, and various microbes and bacteria grow.
8. So after food, it’s best to read an interesting book or journal, browse through your Twitter / Facebook feed or just have a conversation with your friends, family, relatives or loved one.

Internees at their “Knees”!

Daughters are a blessing from God. This is why Islam has given much importance to daughters. However, in our society, every class of people seem to have a desire for a male child. People want their first born to be a son. They think if a girl was born, it would be a burden for them.

They would have to marry her off and spend lots of money on her. She would use surname of her husband after marriage and if there was no male child then their family name will come to an end. Not only is a son considered an heir to the family name, he is considered an earning hand who will support the family in future.

On the other hand, families who own some property, fear their daughter will cause divide of their family riches and take her share to some other family. A son is their safe bet because the property stays within the family.

However, no matter what their rationale is, the reality is that daughters are more loving, caring and obedient to their parents than a son. At the age when parents require care and affection, daughters take good care of their parents. They never prove to be a burden.

Sons, however,  usually kick their parents out and send them to some old-age homes. A son is a son till he gets his wife, but a daughter is a daughter for her whole life.

It’s about time we change our faulty concept of giving dominant role to a male by default. Both the male and female children are a blessing of God and we should feel just that, blessed. Today, a daughter has proved that she is not less than a male in any field of life, she can earn money and support her family and do better than male.
