☆ Asking for good in this world:
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
اے ہمارے رب! ہمیں دنیا میں بھی بھلائی دے اور آخرت میں بھی بھلائی اور آگ کے عذاب سے ہمیں بچا.
- Surah Al-Baqarah [2:201]
☆ Asking for guidance:
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ .
Our Lord! Do not let our hearts swerve towards crookedness after You have guided us to the right way, and. bestow upon us Your mercy. Surely You, only You, are the Munificent Giver!
پروردگار! جب تو ہمیں سیدھے رستہ پر لگا چکا ہے، تو پھر کہیں ہمارے دلوں کو کجی میں مبتلا نہ کر دیجیو ہمیں اپنے خزانہ فیض سے رحمت عطا کر کہ تو ہی فیاض حقیقی ہے
- Surah 'Ali 'Imran [3:8]
☆ Asking for righteousness and gratefulness (or when one reach the age of fourty)
رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي ۖ إِنِّي تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
"My Lord, dispose me that I may give thanks for the bounty that You have bestowed upon me and my parents, and dispose me that I may do righteous deeds that would please You, and also make my descendants righteous. I repent to You, and I am one of those who surrender themselves to You."
اے میرے ربّ ، مجھے توفیق دے کہ میں تیری اُن نعمتوں کا شکر ادا کروں جو تُو نے مجھے اور میرے والدین کو عطا فرمائیں، اور ایسا نیک عمل کروں جس سے تُو راضی ہو، اور میری اولاد کو بھی نیک بنا کر مجھے سُکھ دے، میں تیرے حضور توبہ کرتا ہوں اور تابع فرمان (مسلم)بندوں میں سے ہوں۔"
-Surah Al-Ahqaf [46:15]
☆ For Paradise and to be of the Righteous:
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ○ وَاجْعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ○ وَاجْعَلْنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيمِ○
وَلَا تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ. ○
"My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous. and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity. and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life."
"اے میرے ربّ، مجھے حکم عطا کر۔ اور مجھ کو صالحوں کے ساتھ مِلا۔ اور بعد کے آنے والوں میں مجھ کو سچی ناموری عطا کر۔ اور مجھے جنتِ نعیم کے وارثوں میں شامل فرما. اور مجھے اُس دن رُسوا نہ کر جبکہ سب لوگ زندہ کر کے اُٹھائے جائیں گے ."
-Surah Ash-Shu'ara [26:83-85 & 87]
☆ For knowledge:
رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
My Lord, increase me in knowledge.
اے میرے رب ! میرے علم میں اضافہ فرما.
-Surah Taha [20:114]
☆ House in Paradise: (This dua was recited by Hazrat Bibi Aasiya, wife of Fir'aoun)
رَبِّ ابْنِ لِي عِندَكَ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ.
My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise.
"اے میرے ربّ ، میرے لیے اپنے ہاں جنّت میں ایک گھر بنادے."
-Surah At-Tahrim [66:11]
☆ Patience and die as Muslim:
رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًۭا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ ١٢٦
Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You].
اے ربّ ، ہم پر صبر کا فیضان کر اور ہمیں دنیا سے اُٹھا اِس حال میں کہ ہم تیرے فرمانبردار ہوں۔
-Surah Al-'Araf [7:126]
☆ Seeking any good:
رَبِّ إِنِّى لِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ إِلَىَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍۢ فَقِيرٌۭ ٢٤
"My Lord, I am truly in great need of any good that You might send down to me."
"پروردگار، جو خیر بھی تو مجھ پر نازل کر دے میں اس کا محتاج ہوں"
-Surah Al-Qasas [28:24]
☆ Seeking mercy and guidance:
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا
"Our Lord! Grant us mercy from Yourself and provide for us rectitude in our affairs."
"اے پروردگار، ہم کو اپنی رحمت خاص سے نواز اور ہمارا معاملہ درست کر دے،"
-Surah Al-Kahf [18:10]
☆ Seeking forgiveness:
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ.
Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.
"اے ربّ! ہم نے اپنے اوپر ستم کیا، اب اگر تُو نے ہم سے درگزر نہ فرمایا اور رحم نہ کیا تو یقیناً ہم تباہ ہو جائیں گے۔"
-Surah Al-Araf [7:23]
لَّآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَـٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ.
There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.
الٰہی تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں تو پاک ہے، بیشک میں ظالموں میں ہو گیا..
-Surah Al-Anbiya [21:87]
رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَٰنِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ فِى قُلُوبِنَا غِلًّۭا لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ رَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ.
Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts [any] resentment toward those who have believed. Our Lord, indeed You are Kind and Merciful.
"اے ہمارے رب ، ہمیں اور ہمارے اُن سب بھائیوں کو بخش دے جو ہم سےپہلے ایمان لائے ہیں اورہمارے دلوں میں اہلِ ایمان کے لیےکوئی بغض نہ رکھ، اے ہمارے رب تُو بڑا مہربان اور رحیم ہے"۔
-Surah Al-Hashr [59:10]
رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِىٓ أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ.
Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people.
"اے ہمارے رب! ہماری غلطیوں اور کوتاہیوں سے درگزر فرما، ہمارے کام میں تیرے حدود سے جو کچھ تجاوز ہو گیا ہو اُسے معاف کر دے، ہمارے قدم جما دے اور کافروں کے مقابلہ میں ہماری مدد کر"
-Surah Ali 'Imran [3:147]
☆ Against the Devil and his whispers:
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَٰتِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ. وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ
And say, My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils, And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me.
"پروردگار، میں شیاطین کی اکساہٹوں سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں بلکہ اے میرے ربّ، میں تو اِس سے بھی تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں کہ وہ میرے پاس آئیں۔"
-Surah Al-Mu'minun [23:97-98]
☆ Protection from asking without knowledge:
رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسْـَٔلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِهِۦ عِلْمٌۭ ۖ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِى وَتَرْحَمْنِىٓ أَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ.
My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon me, I will be among the losers.
"اے میرے ربّ، میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں اِس سے کہ وہ چیز تجھ سے مانگوں جس کا مجھے علم نہیں۔ اگر تُو نے مجھے معاف نہ کیا اور رحم نہ فرمایا تو میں برباد ہو جاوٴں گا۔"
-Surah Hud [11:47]
☆ Protection from ignorance:
أَعُوذُ بِٱللَّهِ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجَـٰهِلِينَ
I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant.
میں اس سے خدا کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں کہ جاہلوں کی سی باتیں کروں.
-Surah Al-Baqarah [2:67]
☆ Protection from the Hell fire:
رَبَّنَا ٱصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا. إِنَّهَا سَآءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّۭا وَمُقَامًۭا.
Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering. Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence.
"اے ہمارے رب، جہنم کے عذاب سے ہم کو بچا لے، اُس کا عذاب تو جان کا لاگو ہے وہ تو بڑا ہی بُرا مستقر اور مقام ہے۔
-Surah Al-Furqan [25:65-66]
☆ Protection from the Hell fire:
رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ.
Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
"مالک! ہم ایمان لائے، ہماری خطاؤں سے در گزر فرما اور ہمیں آتش دوزخ سے بچا لے"
-Surah Ali 'Imran [3:16]
☆ Protection from the disbelieving people:
رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةًۭ لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ. وَنَجِّنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ.
Upon Allah do we rely. Our Lord, make us not [objects of] trial for the wrongdoing people. And save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people.
" ہم نے اللہ ہی پر بھروسہ کیا ، اے ہمارے ربّ، ہمیں ظالم لوگوں کے لیے فتنہ نہ بنا. اور اپنی رحمت سے ہم کو کافروں سے نجات دے"
-Surah Yunus [10:85-86]
